Hello everyone, today I’m introducing the Philips Alpha-VP electronic door lock. First, let’s talk about how to open it. You can use a PIN code, fingerprint, key tag, mechanical key, and a temporary PIN code.
Outdoor Unit
Let’s take a look at the outdoor unit, which features a 144° wide-angle lens, a video peephole, a doorbell, a PIN code and card-swiping panel, a fingerprint scanner, and a keyhole at the bottom.
Indoor Unit
Now for the indoor unit. When someone rings the doorbell, the indoor 4-inch HD screen lights up automatically, allowing you to see who is outside from inside your home. The lock offers three ways to unlock from inside: touch-sensitive induction, where you simply touch and pull to open; a button-press release; and a manual rotating knob, all of which are very convenient.
What are its features?
1. Press and hold the Close button for the locking function
This lock has an indoor locking mode; press and hold the Close button to engage the deadbolt. Once locked, it cannot be opened from the outside unless the administrator password is used.
2. Remote video communication
Remote video calling is one of the key selling points of this lock. When someone rings the doorbell, you will receive a notification on your smartphone app. By opening the app, you can see what is happening at your door in real-time.
3. Built-in microphone & temporary PIN code
The lock has a built-in mic, allowing you to speak with visitors via the smartphone app. You can also issue a temporary PIN code for them to unlock the door, which is valid for 30 minutes—a simple and convenient feature.
4. Automatic recording of approximately 7 seconds of video
Furthermore, when someone rings the doorbell, your app will automatically record about 7 seconds of video for later review.

Indoor: This lock uses a built-in lithium battery that can be easily removed for replacement. The lock comes with two batteries for convenience; simply open the cover to swap them. Outdoor: Charge it immediately using a Type-C cable.
